Minds Eye
Gen IXMind's Eye enables the Pokémon with this Ability to hit Ghost-type Pokémon with damage-dealing Normal- and Fighting-type moves. It also prevents other Pokémon from lowering the Pokémon's accuracy and ignores changes to the opponents' evasion.
Minds Eye in Battle
Mind's Eye is a powerful utility ability introduced in Generation 9 that provides three distinct mechanical benefits to its user. The ability allows Normal-type and Fighting-type moves to bypass the typical immunity that Ghost-type Pokemon possess, effectively treating them as if they were neutral targets rather than immune ones. This is particularly significant for Normal-type attackers who would otherwise be completely walled by Ghost-types in battle.
Beyond the type interaction benefits, Mind's Eye also provides substantial accuracy support by preventing opposing Pokemon from lowering the user's accuracy stat through moves like Sand Attack or Smokescreen. Additionally, the ability completely ignores any evasion stat changes on the opponent, meaning moves like Double Team, Minimize, or abilities that boost evasion become irrelevant when facing a Pokemon with Mind's Eye.
The ability is exclusively found on Ursaluna's Blood Moon form, a Ground/Normal-type variant that can make excellent use of its Normal-type STAB moves against the entire type chart. This makes Blood Moon Ursaluna a reliable physical attacker that cannot be easily countered by evasion-based strategies or Ghost-type switch-ins. The combination of reliable accuracy and expanded type coverage makes Mind's Eye particularly valuable in competitive formats where consistency and coverage are paramount.
