Cloud Nine
Gen IIIWhile this Pokémon is in battle, weather can still be in play, but will not have any of its effects. This ability functions identically to Air Lock.
Cloud Nine in Battle
Cloud Nine suppresses all weather effects while the Pokemon with this ability is active on the field. Rain, sun, sandstorm, and hail remain technically in play, but none of their associated effects — damage boosts, type immunities, Speed doublings, or residual damage — will function.
This ability functions identically to Air Lock (Rayquaza's ability). Weather-dependent abilities like Swift Swim, Sand Rush, and Solar Power are deactivated, and moves like Solar Beam will require their charge turn. Weather Ball becomes Normal-type and reverts to its base 50 power.
Cloud Nine is found on a small group of Pokemon including Psyduck, Golduck, Lickilicky, Altaria, and Drampa. It serves as a reliable weather counter, neutralizing entire team strategies built around rain, sun, or sand without requiring the user to set up a different weather condition.
