Flower Gift

Gen IV
Effect

Friendly Pokémon have 1.5× their Attack and Special Defense during strong sunlight if any friendly Pokémon has this ability. Unlike Forecast, Multitype, and Zen Mode, this ability is not tied to its Pokémon's form change; Cherrim will switch between its forms even if it loses this ability. As such, this ability also works if obtained by a Pokémon other than Cherrim.

Flower Gift in Battle

Flower Gift boosts the Attack and Special Defense of the Pokemon and all its allies by 1.5x during harsh sunlight. This dual boost provides both offensive and defensive support simultaneously, affecting the entire friendly side of the field.

The ability also triggers a form change for Cherrim specifically, switching it from Overcast Form to Sunshine Form in sunlight. However, the stat boosts work regardless of which Pokemon has the ability — if another Pokemon acquires Flower Gift through Skill Swap or Role Play, the boosts still apply in sun. The form change is purely cosmetic for Cherrim and tied to the ability's presence rather than the boosts themselves.

Flower Gift is the signature ability of Cherrim, the Grass-type Pokemon introduced in Generation IV. In double battles under sun, Flower Gift turns Cherrim into a potent support Pokemon, boosting a physical attacker's damage while shoring up the team's special bulk. It pairs naturally with Drought users like Torkoal.
