Heavy Metal
Gen VThis Pokémon has double the usual weight for its species.
Heavy Metal in Battle
Heavy Metal doubles the Pokemon's weight. This affects all weight-dependent moves and mechanics: Heavy Slam and Heat Crash deal more damage, while the Pokemon takes more damage from Low Kick and Grass Knot. It also affects Sky Drop (heavier Pokemon cannot be lifted) and the weight check for Autotomize.
The weight doubling is straightforward — a Pokemon that normally weighs 100 kg would weigh 200 kg with Heavy Metal. This makes the Pokemon's own weight-based moves more effective against lighter opponents, but also increases its vulnerability to the opponent's weight-based moves.
Heavy Metal is found on Steel-type Pokemon including Aggron, Bronzong, Copperajah, and Duraludon. For Copperajah, which already weighs 650 kg, Heavy Metal brings its weight to 1300 kg, making Heavy Slam and Heat Crash extremely powerful against most opponents. The ability is the opposite of Light Metal, which halves weight.
