Queenly Majesty
Gen VIIWhen an opposing Pokémon attempts to use a move that targets this Pokémon or an ally, and that move has priority, it will fail.
Queenly Majesty in Battle
Queenly Majesty creates an intimidating presence that completely shuts down opposing priority moves directed at the user or their allies. When an opponent attempts to use any move with increased priority that targets a Pokémon protected by this ability, the move will fail entirely before execution. This includes common priority attacks like Quick Attack, Aqua Jet, and Bullet Punch, as well as status moves with priority such as Thunder Wave when used by Prankster Pokémon.
The ability underwent a subtle but important clarification in Generation 9, explicitly confirming that it protects allies in double battles as well as the user itself. This makes Queenly Majesty particularly valuable in doubles formats where priority moves are often used to secure crucial knockouts or disrupt strategies. The protection extends to any move with positive priority, regardless of whether it deals damage or inflicts status conditions.
Tsareena is currently the sole possessor of this ability, and while it may seem situational, Queenly Majesty provides significant utility in competitive play. Priority moves are common tools for revenge killing and late-game cleanup, so shutting them down can force opponents to rely on slower, more predictable options. This gives Tsareena and its teammates more opportunities to execute their own strategies without fear of being picked off by faster priority attacks, making it a respectable defensive utility in the right team compositions.
