Huge Power
Gen IIIThis Pokémon's Attack is doubled while in battle. This bonus does not count as a stat modifier. This ability functions identically to Pure Power.
Huge Power in Battle
Huge Power doubles the Pokemon's Attack stat in battle. This is not a stat stage change — it is a flat 2x multiplier applied to the raw Attack stat, and it stacks with stat boosts, items, and other modifiers. The effect is identical to Pure Power.
The doubled Attack applies to all physical moves and makes even Pokemon with modest base Attack stats into potent physical threats. The multiplier is applied during damage calculation, so a Pokemon with 50 base Attack effectively hits as hard as a Pokemon with 100 base Attack.
Huge Power is most famously associated with Azumarill, whose base 50 Attack is doubled to an effective 100, which combined with its Water/Fairy typing, priority Aqua Jet, and moves like Play Rough and Belly Drum makes it a top-tier competitive threat. Diggersby also benefits enormously, with its 56 base Attack doubled to 112 effective Attack alongside strong STAB options in Earthquake and Return.
