Gulp Missile in Battle

Gulp Missile is a two-phase ability that activates when Cramorant uses Surf or Dive. After using either move, Cramorant changes form: if its HP is above 50%, it catches an Arrokuda (Gorging Form); if at 50% or below, it catches a Pikachu (Gulping Form). When Cramorant is then hit by a damaging move, it spits out its catch, dealing 1/4 max HP damage to the attacker.

The Arrokuda form additionally lowers the attacker's Defense by one stage upon spitting, while the Pikachu form paralyzes the attacker. After spitting, Cramorant returns to its normal form and must use Surf or Dive again to reload. The catch-and-spit cycle can repeat indefinitely throughout the battle.

Gulp Missile is the signature ability of Cramorant, the Flying/Water-type Pokemon introduced in Generation VIII. It cannot be copied, suppressed, or transferred. The ability adds both offensive retaliation and utility (Defense drop or paralysis) to an otherwise straightforward Water-type attacker.
