Cheek Pouch
Gen VIRestores HP upon eating a Berry, in addition to the Berry's effect.
Cheek Pouch in Battle
Cheek Pouch restores an additional 1/3 of the Pokemon's maximum HP whenever it consumes a Berry, on top of the Berry's own effect. This bonus healing applies regardless of how the Berry was consumed — whether through natural HP-triggered consumption, the move Stuff Cheeks, or being forced to eat it by moves like Bug Bite or Pluck from an opponent.
The healing from Cheek Pouch activates after the Berry's own effect resolves. If the Berry itself restores HP (like a Sitrus Berry), the Pokemon receives both the Berry's healing and the Cheek Pouch bonus. This makes Sitrus Berry particularly effective, restoring roughly 58% of max HP in total.
Cheek Pouch is found on Normal-type Pokemon with a thematic connection to food storage, including Diggersby, Dedenne, Greedent, and Maushold. It encourages Berry-centric strategies and can provide substantial sustain throughout a battle.
