Orichalcum Pulse in Battle

Orichalcum Pulse is a dual-function ability introduced in Generation IX that automatically sets harsh sunlight when the Pokemon enters battle and boosts its Attack stat by approximately 30% while harsh sunlight is active. The sun-setting effect functions identically to Drought, lasting 5 turns (or 8 with Heat Rock), and the Attack boost applies regardless of whether the sun was set by this ability or another source.

The Attack multiplier from Orichalcum Pulse is approximately 1.3x (specifically 5461/4096), applied separately from other modifiers. This stacks with sun-boosted Fire moves, creating enormous offensive pressure -- a physical Fire move in sun receives both the weather boost and the Orichalcum Pulse Attack boost simultaneously. The ability does not boost Special Attack, only physical Attack.

Orichalcum Pulse is the signature ability of Koraidon, the Paradox Pokemon and box legendary of Pokemon Scarlet. As the ancient counterpart to Miraidon's Hadron Engine, it establishes Koraidon as the premier physical sun attacker. In Ubers and Anything Goes formats, Koraidon's combination of massive base stats, Orichalcum Pulse's automatic sun and Attack boost, and access to powerful STAB moves like Collision Course makes it one of the most dominant offensive forces in the metagame.
