Mycelium Might in Battle

Mycelium Might is a Generation IX ability with a distinctive trade-off: the Pokemon always moves last when using status moves, but those moves completely bypass the target's ability. This means status moves like Spore, Will-O-Wisp, or Thunder Wave will ignore abilities that would normally block them, such as Overcoat, Magic Bounce, or Insomnia.

The speed penalty applies only to status moves -- damaging moves operate at normal priority and speed. The ability essentially functions as an automatic Mold Breaker exclusively for non-damaging moves, at the cost of always being outsped when using them. This creates a strategic dynamic where the user can guarantee landing a crippling status condition but must survive the opponent's attack first.

Mycelium Might is found on 2 Pokemon, both Grass-types: Toedscool and Toedscruel. For Toedscruel in particular, combining Mycelium Might with Spore creates one of the most reliable sleep inducers in the game -- Spore's 100% accuracy plus ability-ignoring effect means only Pokemon with type immunity (Grass-types) or held items (Safety Goggles) can avoid being put to sleep. The guaranteed slow speed on status moves is a meaningful drawback in fast-paced competitive matches, however.
