Fluffy in Battle

Fluffy halves the damage the Pokemon takes from contact moves, providing substantial physical defense against the majority of physical attacks. However, it also doubles the damage taken from Fire-type moves, creating a significant vulnerability to Fire attacks regardless of whether they make contact.

The contact damage reduction is a flat 50% multiplier applied during damage calculation. Combined with the Pokemon's natural Defense stat, this can make Fluffy users extremely resilient against physical contact moves. The Fire vulnerability applies to all Fire moves, both physical (Fire Punch, Flare Blitz) and special (Flamethrower, Fire Blast).

Fluffy is found on Bewear, Dubwool, and Houndstone, among others. Bewear is the most notable user, as its already high HP and Attack stats combined with halved contact damage make it an intimidating physical wall. However, the doubled Fire damage means Fire-type opponents can threaten it much more effectively than its typing alone would suggest.
