Long Reach
Gen VIIA move used by this Pokémon will not make contact.
Long Reach in Battle
Introduced in Generation VII, Long Reach prevents the Pokemon's moves from making contact with the target, even when the move is normally classified as a contact move. This provides blanket protection against all contact-triggered defensive effects.
Abilities like Static, Flame Body, Iron Barbs, Rough Skin, and Effect Spore will never activate. Items like Rocky Helmet will not deal recoil damage. Cute Charm and Poison Point cannot trigger. The Pokemon can freely use powerful physical contact moves like Brave Bird, Leaf Blade, and Spirit Shackle without any contact-related consequences whatsoever.
Found exclusively on the Decidueye evolutionary line (3 Pokemon), Long Reach complements their physical attacking playstyle by removing the primary risk associated with contact moves -- punishing defensive abilities and items that normally discourage repeated physical attacks.
