오기 (Defiant)

Defiant raises the Pokemon's Attack by two stages whenever any of its stats are lowered by an opposing Pokemon. Each individual stat drop triggers a separate +2 Attack boost, so a move that lowers two stats at once would result in a +4 Attack increase.

The ability only triggers from opponent-caused stat drops. Self-inflicted reductions from moves like Close Combat or Hammer Arm do not activate Defiant. This makes it an excellent counter to Intimidate, which lowers Attack by one stage but triggers a net +1 Attack gain through Defiant's response.

Defiant is found on physical attackers including Bisharp, Kingambit, Primeape, Annihilape, Braviary, and Gallade. It serves as the physical counterpart to Competitive (which boosts Special Attack instead). In competitive doubles, Defiant is highly valued for punishing the common Intimidate ability, turning an opponent's defensive strategy into an offensive advantage.
