The ability is functionally identical to Huge Power, sharing the same mechanics and interactions. This means Pure Power benefits from the same strategic applications, such as combining with Choice Band for quadrupled effective Attack or working alongside stat-boosting moves like Swords Dance for explosive damage potential. The doubled Attack applies to all physical moves, including variable-power attacks and moves that use the user's Attack stat for damage calculation.
Medicham stands as the primary beneficiary of Pure Power in competitive play, where this ability transforms its mediocre base 60 Attack into an effective base 120 Attack stat. This allows Medicham to serve as a potent wallbreaker despite its relatively frail defensive profile.
