Rks System is Silvally's signature ability that fundamentally alters its typing based on the Memory item it holds. When Silvally equips one of the seventeen different Memory discs, this ability instantly transforms its Normal typing to match the corresponding type, such as becoming a Fire-type with Flame Memory or a Psychic-type with Psychic Memory. This transformation affects all aspects of Silvally's typing, including STAB bonuses, weakness and resistance calculations, and interaction with type-based moves and abilities.

The ability comes with several unique protective measures that set it apart from typical type-changing effects. Rks System cannot be copied by abilities like Trace, replaced through moves like Skill Swap, or nullified by effects such as Gastro Acid or Neutralizing Gas. These safeguards ensure that Silvally maintains its intended adaptability regardless of opponent interference. The ability is also hardcoded to function exclusively for Silvally, making it impossible for other Pokémon to benefit from this mechanic even through ability-copying effects.

In competitive play, Rks System provides Silvally with unparalleled type flexibility, allowing it to adapt to specific team needs or counter particular threats. However, this versatility comes at the cost of an item slot, as Silvally must forgo other held items to utilize different typings.
