第IV世代When this Pokémon enters battle, its Attack or Special Attack, whichever corresponds to its opponents' weaker total defensive stat, rises one stage. In the event of a tie, Special Attack is raised. This ability also takes effect when acquired during a battle.

Download evaluates the combined Defense and Special Defense of all opposing Pokemon when the user enters battle. If the opponents' total Defense is lower than their total Special Defense, the Pokemon's Attack rises by one stage. If Special Defense is lower or the stats are tied, Special Attack rises instead.
The check occurs once upon entry and considers all active opponents, making it particularly strategic in double battles where the stat comparison involves both opposing Pokemon. The ability also activates when acquired mid-battle through Skill Swap or similar effects.
Download is found on the Porygon evolutionary line and Genesect. It provides an automatic offensive boost without requiring a setup turn, and the adaptive nature of the boost ensures the Pokemon targets whichever defensive stat is weaker. Porygon-Z's high Special Attack makes the Special Attack boost especially devastating, while Genesect benefits from either boost due to its mixed attacking capabilities.
