アーケオスは第5世代で登場したいわ/ひこうタイプのポケモンです。合計種族値（BST）は567で、さいこどりポケモンに分類され、アーケン → アーケオスの進化系統に属します。
対戦では、アーケオスはNatDex Monotype tierに位置し、使用率は0.06%です。主な特性はよわきで、万能なチームメンバーとして活躍できます。 アーケオスはみず, でんき, こおり, いわ, はがねタイプの技が弱点のため、これらを意識した対策が必要です。
アーケオスはレベルアップ、わざマシン、教え技、タマゴ技で80種類の技を覚えます。対戦で人気の技はじしん, とんぼがえり, ストーンエッジ, はたきおとすです。高さ1.4m、重さ32kgのアーケオスは、イッシュ地方のゲームでの登場以来、ファンに愛されています。
