Mar Llamas (Blaze)

Blaze powers up the Pokemon's Fire-type moves by 1.5x when its HP falls to one-third or less of its maximum. This emergency boost can turn a weakened Fire-type starter into a significant offensive threat, potentially allowing it to score a crucial knockout before going down.

The ability is one of the three classic starter abilities alongside Overgrow and Torrent, and it functions identically in its activation condition and multiplier. The boost applies to all Fire-type moves, both physical and special, and stacks multiplicatively with other damage modifiers.

Blaze is the standard ability of every Fire-type starter Pokemon across all generations, from Charmander to Fuecoco. This makes it one of the most widely distributed abilities in the series, shared by 29 Pokemon. While many competitive players prefer Hidden Abilities like Solar Power or Speed Boost on their starters, Blaze remains a reliable fallback that can salvage games in clutch situations.
