Efecto Espora (Effect Spore)

Effect Spore gives a 30% chance of inflicting a random status condition on any opposing Pokemon that makes contact with the user. The three possible conditions — paralysis, poison, and sleep — each have a 10% individual chance (9%/10%/11% in some generations). The condition is chosen randomly each time the ability triggers.

If the attacker is already affected by a status condition or is immune to the randomly selected one (such as a Poison-type being selected for poison), the ability simply fails — it does not reroll for a different condition. Grass-type Pokemon became immune to Effect Spore's powder-based effects starting in Generation VI, along with Pokemon holding Safety Goggles.

Effect Spore is found on Grass-type Pokemon associated with mushrooms and spores, including Vileplume, Parasect, Breloom, Amoonguss, and Shiinotic. The random nature of the status makes it unpredictable but potentially devastating, particularly if sleep is inflicted.
