Anticipación (Anticipation)
Gen. IVWhen this Pokémon enters battle, if one of its opponents has a move that is super effective against it, Self-Destruct, Explosion, or a one-hit knockout move, all participating trainers are notified. The move itself is not revealed; only that there is such a move. Moves that inflict typeless damage, such as Future Sight, and moves of variable type, such as Hidden Power, count as their listed types. Counter, Metal Burst, Mirror Coat, and one-hit KO moves to which this Pokémon is immune do not trigger this ability.
Anticipación en combate
Anticipation causes the Pokemon to shudder when it enters battle if any opposing Pokemon has a move that is super effective against it, a one-hit knockout move (such as Sheer Cold or Fissure), or a self-destructing move (Self-Destruct or Explosion). The warning does not reveal which specific move triggered it — only that a dangerous move exists.
Moves are evaluated based on their listed type, so Future Sight counts as Psychic-type and Hidden Power counts as its actual hidden type for the purpose of Anticipation's check. Importantly, one-hit KO moves to which the Pokemon is immune (such as a Flying-type facing Ground-type Fissure) do not trigger the warning. Counter, Metal Burst, and Mirror Coat also do not trigger Anticipation.
This ability provides valuable information in competitive play, allowing the trainer to gauge potential threats before committing to a strategy. It is found on Pokemon like Whiscash, Toxicroak, Ferrothorn, and Hatenna.
