Cœur Noble en combat

Justified raises the Pokemon's Attack by one stage each time it is hit by a Dark-type move. The attacking move still deals full damage — Justified does not reduce or negate the hit, it only provides an Attack boost as a response. This means the Pokemon trades taking a Dark-type hit for a free +1 Attack boost, which can swing momentum if the Pokemon survives.

The ability triggers on any Dark-type damaging move, including multi-hit moves like Beat Up — where each individual hit grants a separate +1 Attack boost. This interaction with Beat Up was particularly notorious in doubles formats, where an ally could use Beat Up on a Justified Pokemon to rapidly stack multiple Attack boosts in a single turn. Introduced in Generation V, Justified is found on 9 Pokemon, many of them Fighting-types or legendary Pokemon associated with justice — including Lucario, the Swords of Justice trio (Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, and Keldeo), and Arcanine (as a Hidden Ability). The thematic connection between justice and punishing Dark-type ("evil") moves is central to the ability's design.
