Prisme-Armure (Prism Armor)

Prism Armor serves as a powerful defensive ability that reduces the damage from super-effective attacks to 75% of their original power. This 25% damage reduction can be the difference between surviving a critical hit and fainting, making it particularly valuable for bulky Pokemon that need to tank powerful attacks. The ability functions as a simple multiplier applied after all other damage calculations, providing consistent protection against type disadvantages.

What makes Prism Armor especially notable is its unique interaction with ability-negating moves and abilities. Unlike most defensive abilities, Prism Armor cannot be bypassed by Mold Breaker, Teravolt, or Turboblaze, giving it a level of reliability that few other protective abilities possess. This immunity to suppression ensures that the damage reduction remains active even against Pokemon specifically designed to ignore abilities.

Necrozma is the sole possessor of this ability, and it proves particularly valuable given the Psychic-type's vulnerability to common attacking types like Ghost, Bug, and Dark. In competitive play, Prism Armor allows Necrozma to better handle its type weaknesses while maintaining its offensive presence. The ability's consistent damage reduction helps extend Necrozma's longevity on the field, enabling it to continue threatening opponents with its impressive offensive capabilities while being less susceptible to revenge kills from super-effective coverage moves.
