Light Metal en combat

Introduced in Generation V, Light Metal halves the Pokemon's weight for all weight-based calculations. This directly reduces damage taken from weight-dependent moves like Low Kick and Grass Knot, which deal more damage to heavier targets. It also affects Heavy Slam and Heat Crash -- reducing their effectiveness when the user employs them (less weight = less damage dealt) and lowering damage taken when targeted by them.

Light Metal has no effect on the Pokemon's actual stats, speed, or battle performance beyond weight-related interactions. The weight reduction is purely a mechanical adjustment for move damage formulas.

Found on 6 Pokemon -- Scizor, Metagross, Registeel, Beldum, Metang, and Duraludon -- all Steel-types whose substantial weight would otherwise place them in Low Kick's maximum base power bracket of 120.
