Vorwarnung im Kampf

Forewarn reveals the highest base power move known by any opposing Pokemon when the user enters battle. The announcement is shown to all trainers, identifying the specific move by name. If multiple moves are tied for the highest power, one is chosen at random.

For moves without a fixed base power, Forewarn assigns a proxy value: one-hit KO moves are treated as 160 power, Counter/Mirror Coat/Metal Burst as 120, most variable-power moves as 80, and status moves as 0. This means Forewarn will typically reveal powerful OHKO moves or Counter-type moves before regular attacks.

Forewarn is found on Psychic and Ice-type Pokemon including Hypno, Jynx, and Musharna. The information gained can be strategically valuable, revealing whether opponents carry coverage moves, priority, or OHKO moves. However, it only reveals one move, so it provides an incomplete picture of the opponent's full moveset.
