Dunkelaura (Dark Aura)

Dark-type moves used by any Pokemon on the field by approximately 1.33x while the Pokemon with this ability is active. This boost applies to both the user's own Dark moves and those of all other Pokemon — allies and opponents alike.

The universal nature of the boost means opponents' Dark-type moves are also strengthened, which can be a liability in mirror matches or against Dark-type opponents. The ability's effect is reversed to approximately 0.75x power reduction if a Pokemon with Aura Break is also on the field.

Dark Aura is the signature ability of Yveltal, the Dark/Flying-type Legendary Pokemon introduced in Generation VI. Combined with Yveltal's massive base stats and strong Dark-type STAB moves like Dark Pulse, Knock Off, and Sucker Punch, the aura boost makes it one of the most powerful Dark-type attackers in the franchise. It is thematically paired with Xerneas's Fairy Aura.
