Предмети Pokemon можна використовувати в бою чи поза ним, щоб допомагати Pokemon. Утримувані предмети дають пасивні ефекти під час бою — від посилення сили прийому до відновлення HP щотуру. Інші предмети включають камені еволюції, Поке Кулі, ліки та популярні змагальні предмети на кшталт Choice Band, Leftovers і Life Orb. Розуміння предметів Pokemon
Предмети в серії Pokemon мають багато призначень: від лікування команди до посилення атак у змагальних боях. Утримувані предмети стали основою створення змагальних команд, адже правильний предмет може значно підвищити ефективність Pokemon.
Змагальні утримувані предмети
Найвпливовіші утримувані предмети в змагальній грі: Leftovers (відновлює 1/16 HP щотуру), Choice Band/Specs/Scarf (1,5x до стату, але лише один прийом), Life Orb (1,3x шкоди ціною 10% HP за атаку) та Eviolite (1,5x до обох захистів для не до кінця еволюціонованих Pokemon). Heavy-Duty Boots запобігають шкоді від небезпек при вході, тому необхідні для Pokemon, вразливих до небезпек.
Предмети еволюції
Багатьом покемонам для еволюції потрібні певні предмети. Камені еволюції, як-от Fire Stone, Water Stone і Thunder Stone, запускають еволюцію при використанні на сумісному покемоні. Предмети для обміну, як-от Metal Coat (Scizor), Dragon Scale (Kingdra) і Protector (Rhyperior), спричиняють еволюцію, коли покемон із ними обмінюється.
Мегакамені й Z-Кристали
Мегакамені, представлені в поколінні VI, дозволяють певним покемонам Мегаеволюціонувати в бою, підвищуючи характеристики, а іноді отримуючи нові здібності або типи. Z-Кристали з покоління VII дають змогу один раз використати потужні Z-Рухи. Хоча обидві механіки обмежені відповідними поколіннями, вони важливі у форматах, де дозволені.
Ягоди й предмети відновлення
Ягоди, що знижують шкоду від типів (Yache Berry, Occa Berry тощо), удвічі зменшують шкоду від надзвичайно ефективного удару певного типу. Ягоди критичного HP, як-от Sitrus Berry, відновлюють HP, коли воно падає нижче порогу. Ці одноразові предмети додають ще один рівень передбачення й протидії у змагальних боях.
