Iron Fist

Iron Fist boosts the base power of all punch-based moves by 20%. This applies to a specific set of moves flagged as punching moves in the game's code, including Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Drain Punch, Mach Punch, Meteor Mash, Bullet Punch, Power-Up Punch, and many others. Notably, Sucker Punch is NOT boosted by Iron Fist despite having "Punch" in its English name — this is because the move's original Japanese name means "surprise attack" and it is not coded as a punching move.

The 20% boost is a flat multiplier applied to the move's base power before other calculations, making it a reliable and consistent damage increase. While not as dramatic as abilities like Huge Power or Pure Power, Iron Fist benefits from the wide variety of punching moves available, covering multiple types and allowing diverse coverage. Found on 18 Pokemon including Hitmonchan, Ledian, Pangoro, and the Timburr line, Iron Fist has been available since Generation IV and is particularly effective on Pokemon with access to multiple elemental punches for broad type coverage.
