About Special Balls

Special Balls are Poke Balls with unique conditional catch rate bonuses. Unlike standard balls, their effectiveness depends on specific battle conditions like turn count, time of day, or the target Pokemon's type. Mastering when to use each Special Ball dramatically improves catch rates.

Conditional Bonuses

Dusk Balls offer 3x catch rate in caves and at night. Timer Balls scale from 1x to 4x based on turns elapsed. Quick Balls give 5x on the first turn. Net Balls provide 3.5x against Water and Bug types. These bonuses often exceed the Ultra Ball's flat 2x rate.

Best Practices

Lead with a Quick Ball for a chance at an instant catch. Switch to the type-appropriate Special Ball (Net Ball, Dusk Ball) and use Timer Balls for prolonged encounters. This strategy is especially effective for legendary Pokemon battles.
