About Vitamins
Vitamins are items that boost a Pokemon's Effort Values (EVs), which directly increase stats. Since Generation VIII, vitamins can max out EVs to 252 per stat, making them the fastest way to EV train. They are essential for competitive team preparation.
Vitamin Types
HP Up (+HP), Protein (+Attack), Iron (+Defense), Calcium (+Sp. Atk), Zinc (+Sp. Def), and Carbos (+Speed) each add 10 EVs to their respective stat. PP Up and PP Max increase move PP but are categorized separately. In modern games, vitamins can be used until the 252 EV cap.
Cost-Effective Training
At 10,000 Pokedollars each, fully EV training a stat costs 260,000. Money farming methods like Amulet Coin or prize money powers make vitamin training practical. For competitive players, vitamins offer the fastest path from freshly bred to battle-ready Pokemon.
