About Z-Crystals
Z-Crystals are Generation VII held items that enable one-time Z-Moves in battle. There are 18 type-specific Z-Crystals plus several species-specific Z-Crystals. Z-Moves deliver devastating damage or powerful status boosts that can swing battles in a single turn.
Type Z-Crystals
Each of the 18 Pokemon types has a corresponding Z-Crystal that powers up a move of that type into a Z-Move. Physical moves become physical Z-Moves; special moves become special Z-Moves. The base power depends on the original move's power, with most Z-Moves reaching 175-200 BP.
Status Z-Moves
Using a Z-Crystal with a status move grants a bonus effect before the status move executes. Z-Swords Dance gives +1 Attack on top of +2 from Swords Dance. Z-Memento fully heals the incoming Pokemon. These combos created unique strategic opportunities in Gen VII.
