Cristais Z são itens segurados da Geração VII que permitem Movimentos Z de uso único em batalha. Há 18 Cristais Z específicos por tipo e vários específicos por espécie. Movimentos Z causam dano devastador ou poderosos aumentos de estado que podem mudar batalhas em um turno.
Cristais Z por Tipo
Cada um dos 18 tipos Pokémon tem um Cristal Z correspondente que transforma um golpe daquele tipo em um Movimento Z. Golpes físicos viram Movimentos Z físicos; golpes especiais viram Movimentos Z especiais. O poder base depende do poder do golpe original, com a maioria dos Movimentos Z chegando a 175-200 BP.
Movimentos Z de Estado
Usar um Cristal Z com um golpe de estado concede um efeito bônus antes de o golpe ser executado. Z-Swords Dance dá +1 Ataque além do +2 de Swords Dance. Z-Memento recupera totalmente o Pokémon que entra. Essas combinações criaram oportunidades estratégicas únicas na Gen VII.
